Heather and Austin’s Engagement Session in Downtown Athens, GA
Posted in Engagement, Portraits on January 13th, 2012 by Courtney – Be the first to commentHeather, Austin and I met at 9:00 am this summer for their engagement session in downtown Athens, GA. At that hour it wasn’t too terribly hot, and since Athens doesn’t really wake up until early afternoon (hehe) we had the town to ourselves. We began at The Georgian, where there wedding reception was going to be held, then just walked around. Here are some of my favorite photos of the day.
Mindy and Adam’s Engagement Session at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens
Posted in Engagement, Portraits on November 30th, 2011 by Courtney – Be the first to commentSome favorites from Mindy and Adam’s engagement session at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia. (I’m getting used to these blog posts of few words. After all, I’m a photographer, not a writer. And I don’t have to tell you how adorable these two are… just look!)
Jasmin and Ariel’s Engagement Session at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA
Posted in Engagement, Portraits on November 2nd, 2011 by Courtney – Be the first to commentI photographed Jasmin and Ariel’s engagement session at Piedmont Park back in June. We had such fun walking around the park, enjoying the weather and taking photos.
Ariel brought all the accessories for a picnic at the park – reminiscent of when he proposed to Jasmin.

He fed her some berries and they had some wine. Then he tried to feed her a nectarine and we were cracking up – not easy to make that look sexy!

They are so cute together! And the Canadian geese were kind enough to walk around in the background for some nice park ambiance.

Congrats Jasmin and Ariel!
Ellen and Trevor’s Engagement Session at Piedmont Park in Atlanta
Posted in Engagement, Portraits on October 11th, 2011 by Courtney – 1 CommentI’ve known Trevor forever, or at least since he was born! Our families are close friends and many of my childhood memories include him – especially Thanksgiving! It was such an honor for me to photograph his and Ellen’s engagement session and wedding.
We started at Ellen’s friend’s condo, which had an amazing view of the city!

We went to Piedmont Park for the rest of the session. Trevor and Ellen brought their dog Bruiser for some of the photos, since he’s part of the family too. Plus, he’s so photogenic!

I love how happy Trevor looks getting a kiss from Ellen!

We took a few more skyline photos at the park.

Ellen and Trevor’s wedding reception was going to be held at The Foundry Park Inn‘s music venue, The Melting Point. Keeping with the musical theme, they asked if we could take some less traditional, more fun engagement photos for them to use to make posters to display at the reception. Of course, I obliged, and we had a blast! Below are the posters Trevor’s brother Alec (who also promotes musicians for a living) created for them, then a photo of the display at the Melting Point.

Photos from the wedding coming up soon!
Grace and Robert’s Engagement Session at The Botanical Garden in Athens, GA
Posted in Engagement, Portraits on June 28th, 2011 by Courtney – Be the first to commentGrace and Robert are getting married this weekend! I’m looking forward to working with them – we had such fun at the engagement session. I photographed their engagement session at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia in April. The weather was just gorgeous! Here are a few of my favorites from the day.
I love red Japanese Maples, so I had to start with some photos in front of this one. It was just a bonus that Grace has the most beautiful red hair, making the tree an even better background!

We went into the shade garden, one of the quietest parts of the garden.

Grace looked great in her sundress.

After a quick change of clothes we headed into the main part of the Garden. Look at all that lush greenery!

Congratulations Grace and Robert! See you two on Saturday.
Keri and Brad’s Engagement Session at McDaniel Farm Park in Duluth, GA

Posted in Engagement, Portraits on April 13th, 2011 by Courtney – 2 CommentsDawn and Rick met in Athens, at NONA – New Orleans ‘N Athens. They love to spend time riding on their motorcycles, so we thought that would be fun for some of the engagement photos. Then we walked around North Campus and got some more photos. Rick was a student at UGA, and shared lots of fun memories with us!
This sun dial is in the Founder’s Garden on UGA’s campus. It’s got such a sweet quote, “Grow Old Along with Me The Best is Yet To Be.” Take a look at Dawn’s beautiful, unique engagement ring! It’s a yellow sapphire surrounded by diamonds.

I’m looking forward to the wedding this weekend!
Keri Beth and Jonathan’s Engagement Session at The State Botanical Gardens in Athens
Posted in Engagement, Portraits on March 22nd, 2011 by Courtney – 1 CommentKeri Beth and Jonathan are getting married this summer at Watkinsville First Baptist Church, with their reception at The Georgian in downtown Athens. Keri Beth and Jonathan, like many couples I work with, met online. They are actually getting married on their second anniversary of their first date! They wanted an outdoorsy, country setting for their engagement session, so we started at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia then headed down Milledge Rd. Below are some of my favorite photos of the day.
I’m looking forward to the wedding, these two are such a fun couple!!
Caroline and Stephen’s Engagement Session in Piedmont Park in Atlanta
Posted in Engagement, Portraits on March 17th, 2011 by Courtney – Be the first to commentCaroline and Stephen are getting married in September and wanted a spring engagement session. Our original date was rained out, but we couldn’t have asked for a better “rain date.” It was gorgeous last weekend! It turns out that like me, Stephen was a “lifer” at Lovett – so we had lots to talk about. (Being a lifer at Lovett means that we attended from Kindergarten through Senior Year!) Stephen was actually working at Lovett when Caroline’s neighbors (also her friends and bridesmaids) introduced the two of them. Five happy years later, Stephen proposed to Caroline by carving “Marry Me” into a Jack O’ Lantern. How fun!
