Heather and Austin's Engagement Session in Downtown Athens, GA
Heather, Austin and I met at 9:00 am this summer for their engagement session in downtown Athens, GA. At that hour it wasn't too terribly hot, and since Athens doesn't really wake up until early afternoon (hehe) we had the town to ourselves. We began at The Georgian, where there wedding reception was going to be held, then just walked around. Here are some of my favorite photos of the day.
Jamie and Geoff's Wedding and Reception at The Village Commons in Cashiers, North Carolina
Jamie is another life long friend of mine whose wedding I photographed in 2011! It was an amazing experience to be such an integral part of her wedding. I feel like our friendship allowed her to totally relax in front of the camera and the results were stunning. I'm going to stick to my "less is more" philosophy in the blog writing, and just show you the photos. The wedding and reception were held at The Village Commons in Cashiers, North Carolina. Epting Events did the catering and design.I do have to point out that this is Ann and Ryan, whose wedding I photographed the summer of 2010, and are now expecting a baby!

The Dance - Courtney and Brent's Wedding at The Lake Club at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, GA
I'm editing this wedding, and couldn't wait to show this photo. It's just too sweet. Besides the obvious moment between the bride and groom, the couple in the background is the groom's parents. Ain't love grand!
Featured on Moment Junkie - again!
This summer one of my photos was featured on Moment Junkie, and today a photo from another wedding was featured! Janet was second shooting for me and captured this gem. Here's a link to the post. And this is the description of the blog – taken from their site:Moment Junkie is a blog devoted to showcasing the best in contemporary wedding photojournalism, with a focus on moments between people that are timeless, heartbreaking, hilarious, or all of the above. We love gorgeous portraits and well-planned details, but so often we’ve found that the photos we hold most dear — the ones we would give anything to hold onto — are those that encapsulate a memorable moment or remind us of how we felt as much as they show us how we looked. So we’re here to tell those stories, with submissions from some of the best working photographers around today.

Ellen and Trevor were married this summer at The Foundry Park Inn in Athens, Georgia. The flowers were from Gardenia Floral. Sarah Ketchie played the harp during the ceremony. The reception was held at their music venue, The Melting Point. The Highballs performed, even letting Trevor and his brother get in on the action and sing "Twist & Shout!" The Foundry catered, and provided a cake by Cecilia's Cakes. Mary Ellen of Consultant's Unlimited brought it all together perfectly!Instead of just some favorite photos today, I decided to show their whole album! Enjoy.

Jasmin and Ariel's Engagement Session at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA
I photographed Jasmin and Ariel's engagement session at Piedmont Park back in June. We had such fun walking around the park, enjoying the weather and taking photos.Ariel brought all the accessories for a picnic at the park - reminiscent of when he proposed to Jasmin. He fed her some berries and they had some wine. Then he tried to feed her a nectarine and we were cracking up - not easy to make that look sexy! They are so cute together! And the Canadian geese were kind enough to walk around in the background for some nice park ambiance.Congrats Jasmin and Ariel!
Cheryl and Fred's Wedding Reception at The Westin in Atlanta - Part Two
Cheryl was serenaded by her sorority sisters. Then threw the bouquet - to a determined group of women!Of course the bouquet toss was followed by the garter. Then came the dancing! Cheryl and Fred start off their reception at The Westin by jumping the broom! Then, they had their first dance as husband and wife.Fred danced with his mother. And Cheryl with her Uncle.I love what they did after the traditional first dances. Fred danced with Cheryl's mom, and Cheryl danced with Fred's dad! I think that was very sweet, since weddings are the merging not only of two people, but also of both their families.Next, of course, they cut the cake!Yup, that cake is green - it's pistachio!Cheryl's mom, her maid of honor, and Fred's best man all toasted the newlyweds. Next post... the dancing!

Ellen and Trevor's Engagement Session at Piedmont Park in Atlanta
I've known Trevor forever, or at least since he was born! Our families are close friends and many of my childhood memories include him - especially Thanksgiving! It was such an honor for me to photograph his and Ellen's engagement session and wedding. We started at Ellen's friend's condo, which had an amazing view of the city!We went to Piedmont Park for the rest of the session. Trevor and Ellen brought their dog Bruiser for some of the photos, since he's part of the family too. Plus, he's so photogenic!I love how happy Trevor looks getting a kiss from Ellen! We took a few more skyline photos at the park.Ellen and Trevor's wedding reception was going to be held at The Foundry Park Inn's music venue, The Melting Point. Keeping with the musical theme, they asked if we could take some less traditional, more fun engagement photos for them to use to make posters to display at the reception. Of course, I obliged, and we had a blast! Below are the posters Trevor's brother Alec (who also promotes musicians for a living) created for them, then a photo of the display at the Melting Point.Photos from the wedding coming up soon!

Hannah and Ryan's Wedding Ceremony at The Calloway Building of The State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens
Hannah and Ryan had their wedding ceremony on the front steps of The Calloway Building of The State Botanical Garden of Georgia.
