Erin and Collin, whose engagement photos can be seen here, were married at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens on the most beautiful day in October. Here are some of the portraits from before the ceremony, including Erin and Collin's first look.
Casey and Alex's Wedding Ceremony in The Day Chapel at The Athens Botanical Gardens
I'd met Alex a few times when he used to work for Trumps Catering. I was so excited when I saw him at the Trumps tasting a year or so ago and he was with Casey - his fiancee, and they were looking for a photographer. I just knew we'd be a great fit. Here are some of my favorite photos from the first half of the wedding day.One of the most beautiful features of The Day Chapel is this door, and it was just the right spot for the photo of the gown. Of course, it looks even better on the beautiful bride! How can you not love this enthusiasm!?!?!This was Casey and Alex's favorite photo from the engagement session. So we did our best to recreate it from memory on the wedding day.Reception photos coming next!
Sara and Zach’s Wedding Reception at The Houston Mill House in Decatur Georgia
Sara and Zach's Reception kept the purple theme going. Plus, they had water color paint and paper at each table! The guests had so much fun with this, and now Sara and Zach have a collection of paintings made just for them on their wedding day. Here are some of my favorite photos from the reception.Mom took a sharpie to the bride, and made sure she had a purple dress just for Sara!!
Sara and Zach's Wedding Ceremony at The Houston Mill House in Decatur Georgia
It's always fun to photograph a wedding of a former classmate. Zach and I went to high school together, so I was excited about working with him and his bride Sara at their wedding at The Houston Mill House in Decatur, GA. Zach and Sara met in college, and had been together a few weeks less than 12 years when they got married! Zach's cousin officiated the ceremony. Prior to the wedding she had requested that Zach and Sara answer some questions about each other, which she read aloud during the ceremony. It's quite clear that these two are a great match and will be as happy together in marriage as they have been for the last 12 years.Sara is an amazing artist, and made the necklace and earrings she wore for the wedding, as shown below. Also, she made Zach's ring, all of the groomsmen's cuff links, as well as the necklaces worn by the matron of honor and both mothers. You may also notice that Sara is not wearing a traditional white wedding dress. She wanted to have a dress that she could wear again, and purple is her color! Zach and Sara had a 'first look' before the ceremony, and the photo below on the left is Sara's expression as she walks up to her handsome groom!Sara also had one matron of honor, and two 'bridesdudes' - her brothers. She and her matron of honor both carried a simple bouquet of lilies. This is one of my favorite photos of the day. Sara was waiting for her cue to walk down the aisle. I was taking her photo when she noticed me, and I was able to capture this genuine, adorable smile. I feel like I need to point out that the woman you can see on the left is Zach's mom, and the man on the right is Sara's dad. This was a fun photo of all of the guests at this wedding. Photos from the reception to follow!
Brittany and Jeremy's Wedding Reception at The Big House in Alpharetta, GA
Brittany and Jeremy finished all of their photos before the ceremony, so immediately after they had a receiving line. There were so many beautiful hugs! Here are my favorites from the reception.
Brittany and Jeremy's Wedding Ceremony at The Big House in Alpharetta, GA
Brittany and Jeremy got married at The Big House in Alpharetta, GA. They chose to have a 'first look' so that they could see each other before the ceremony, and take all of the portraits before the guests began to arrive. It was a beautiful ceremony, officiated by Brittany's Grandfather. I love the excitement in the very last photo - "we're married!"

Megan and Mike's Reception in The Conservatory at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens
Megan and Mike's Reception was held in the Conservatory at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia. It's just about as close to an outside reception as you can get without actually being outside, and has the bonus of air conditioning and a gorgeous natural background! Here are some of my favorite photos from the reception. The parents of the groom. The parents of the bride. Also, I couldn't help but include this one! The bride's step-dad was helping me test the light for the departure, and I got this!!
Megan and Mike's Wedding Ceremony at The Day Chapel at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens, GA
Megan and Mike were married in The Day Chapel at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens. I'm always thrilled when a couple chooses to trust me to capture their wedding, but when the groom is a professional photographer it's an even bigger compliment! Mike was great at the wedding, trusting me to do the job right and also having fun 'talking shop' (although we did decide that for the day, using Photoshop as a verb was not allowed!) Here are a some of my favorite photos from the portraits and ceremony. Oh, and the gorgeous flowers - those are from Gardenia Floral Design.

Megan and Brett's Wedding Reception at The Thompson House and Gardens in Bogart, GA
After Megan and Brett's Ceremony at The UGA Chapel, they held a beautiful reception at The Thompson House and Gardens in Bogart.Megan and Brett included in their reception a Western Pennsylvania Tradition (that I'd never seen) called The Apron Dance. I'll try to explain it here, next to the corresponding photo. In this first picture you see the maid of honor with the bag for the cash, the best man who will help hand out the shots, and the caterer with the tray of whiskey.First things first, this tradition is all about the Polka. So each guest is invited to pay a few dollars cash to have a quick, 5-10 second dance with the bride and a shot of liquor. After their dance and shot, the guests start a circle of dancing around the bride. Once all of the guests have had their turn, the Mother of the Bride begins dancing with the bride and the circle of dancing guests closes around them.It is at this point that the groom has to break through the dancing guests to take his bride from her mom.Once the groom makes his way in it is traditional for him to pick up his bride, carry her away and off to the honeymoon. Since we weren't ready for the party to end they had a dance together, and we continued to celebrate into the night. It was a great way to get all of the guests on the dance floor, drinking, dancing, and having a great time! Congratulations Brett and Megan! Christy caught the bouquet at Kristen and Charlie's wedding, and now she's getting married! I'm very excited to be photographing her wedding in August. Christy and Andrew met at UGA. They are both getting their masters in Statistics, so we started off the session with a few photos at and around the Statistics building. Christy and Andrew are 'outdoorsy' type people, so they chose to do the rest of the session at Sandy Creek Park. Here are some favorites from the session.
Kelsey and Preston's Wedding Ceremony at Peachtree United Methodist Church and Reception at The Biltmore in Atlanta
Preston's sister and I were classmates in high school. She was so sweet when she highly recommended me to her brother's bride for their wedding! Kelsey and Preston were married at Peachtree United Methodist Church. To say that Kelsey was a stunning bride is an understatement! Besides being generally beautiful, she absolutely glowed when she was with Preston. Their reception was held at the gorgeous Biltmore in the Imperial Ballroom. Here are a few of my favorite images from the day - starting with the smiling faces of the bride and groom, taken just before the ceremony. All photos by Courtney Goldman - Atlanta Wedding Photographer
