Kate and Walker had a traditional Catholic ceremony, including the celebration of the Eucharist, which is central to the Catholic faith. They lit the unity candle, which represents the couple's lives as separate individuals, and symbolizes the union of their two hearts and lives into one. Here are some of my favorite images from Katie and Walker's ceremony.
Portraits at Katie & Walker's Wedding Day Portraits at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and The Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta
Katie and Walker took the traditional approach and waited until the ceremony to see each other on their wedding day. Prior the the ceremony I took the portraits that don't require both the bride and groom, including Katie with her bridesmaids and her family, as well as Walker with his groomsmen and his family. After the ceremony I took a few more portraits, starting with the officiant and the families at the alter. Then I took Katie and Walker outside to take some sweet photos of just the two of them. I also took a few quick wedding party photos once we got to the reception venue, The Piedmont Driving Club.
Katie Getting Ready for her Wedding Ceremony at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Atlanta, GA
Katie and her bridesmaids started getting ready at her family's house. Once everyone's hair and makeup was done, and the bridesmaids were in their dresses, they took a limo over to the church to get Katie into her dress and ready to walk down the aisle. The bride's room at Holy Spirit Catholic Church is very special to Katie's family. The stained glass window in the photos below was given by Katie's parents as a gift to their parents (Katie's grandparents), and they had it placed in the bride's room in hopes that one day one of their daughters would get married in their church. And of course, it did!

Zuri's One Year Old Session at Springvale Park in Inman Park, Atlanta GA
I took Zuri's family portrait session the day before she turned one. Her moms chose Springvale Park in Inman Park for the session, so we could get some fun, action shots of the family - including the dog! Zuri is a sweet, happy toddler who of course knows what she wants to do! She loved the playground, especially the swings and the slide. She also loves to walk hand in hand with her moms. They brought her favorite book along as well, and she not only read it a few times, but once even on top of the dog! Here are some of my my favorite photos of the day. This photo might be my very favorite. You know they've sat together as a family and read Zuri her favorite book hundreds of times!Proof that not all 'bully breeds' are mean. This guy was a total softie!!
Newborn Baby Ravi in Atlanta, Georgia
Earlier this year, Rakhi and Vann McNeill welcomed a newborn baby boy into their family. I photographed Rakhi and Vann's Weddings (both Christian Ceremony and Hindu) back in 2009, and was just thrilled to celebrate the arrival of their son Ravi! I do love a newborn with a full head of hair! Here are some of my favorite photos of the handsome Ravi, with his deep brown eyes and lucious head of dark hair. (Here are a few posts of their weddings: Rakhi’s Bridal, Sneak Peek 1, Mendhi Party, Sneak Peek 2, Wedding Portraits, The Baraat, The Hindu Ceremony, Reception)
Baby Henry's Newborn Session in Atlanta, Georgia
Remember Baby Thomas? (That's him in the first photo) He's all grown up, has a head of blonde hair, and now -- a baby brother! I love how excited he looks!! And Henry is just as adorable as Thomas was at the same age. Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Kirby Ann's Newborn Session in Madison, Georgia
Charlie has a new baby sister! I took photos of Charlie when he was 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and 18 months old. I'm so excited that I'm going to do the same for Kirby Ann as she grows up! Here are some photos from her newborn session. She was awake and alert the entire time! That is one proud big brother!Even after we swaddled Kirby Ann and gave her the paci she stayed awake and alert for her photos! Such sweet eyes - she didn't want to miss a thing!

Carter's One Year Session on UGA Campus in Athens, GA
Carter turned one in December, and on a beautiful and mild winter day we went to the UGA campus for his one year session. He started off in some very snazzy formal attire, then had a few costume changes. (Check out his newborn and six month sessions too!)After hearing us call out his name over and over, trying to get him to look for some photos he gave us this pose, which says to me, "You want me to pose for you? Here, how's this? Got it? Ok, I'm on a mission here, leave me alone!"This was some experimental moss eating. Turns out it isn't as tasty as it looks. Such a handsome fella!
Newborn Baby Ryan in Gainesville, GA
Baby Ryan is another newborn whose parents were wedding clients. I mentioned in this post how excited I was to see their wall decorated in wedding photos, so I know when I go take more photos of Ryan as he grows up I'll be seeing some of these. I photographed baby Ryan at just 6 days old. He was already super attentive and stretching his arms and legs as much as possible! He did not want to miss a moment, so he's awake in all of his photos. But look at those eyes; he's so handsome! Congratulations Jessica and Chris.
Sylvan - My Nephew in Eugene, Oregon
I visited my sister and her family back in December, and after much encouragement, I convinced my 6 year old nephew that it would be 'so cool' to let me do a mini (yep, like 5 minutes mini) session of him by the green wall. Between his missing teeth and his hair in the middle of growing out, I feel like he's 6 going on 16! The first one is my very favorite. The laugh on the second one is from my giving in and talking about 'stinky farts' to his absolute joy!! The last one was taken by my sister. One of the rare photos that includes me!!
Newborn Baby Addison in Atlanta, GA
There's something so very special for me about getting the chance to photograph the children of couple's whose wedding I photographed a few years before. Congratulations to Jackie & Greg!! Addison is beautiful!
Melanie and Zach's Engagement Session at Dudley Park in Athens, GA
Melanie and Zach got married a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd post their engagement session before I get to the wedding photos! We met last fall at Dudley Park in Athens, GA and took some photos in the soft warm sunlight of the late afternoon. Enjoy!
Marcel's Bar Mitzvah in The Rialto Room at Hotel Indigo in Athens, GA
Marcel's Bar Mitzvah was held at The Rialto Room at Hotel Indigo in Athens, GA on Thanksgiving Day. Although the ceremony was not held at a temple, the ceremony was traditional, beautiful, and certainly the most important part of the day. Don't worry, the party was fun too! Here are some of my favorite photos of the day. Mazel Tov Marcel!
Maggie & Ware's Engagement Session at Serenbe in Palmetto, GA
Anyone who follows my blog knows that I usually only pick a few favorites to show. This post will be an exception to the rule! I just couldn't narrow my selections down any further. Maggie and Ware were so much fun to work with. They are getting married out of state this summer, but wanted an engagement session locally and I'm so glad they called me! Serenbe was a great choice for an engagement session as it provides such a beautiful backdrop.
Janie and Jack Studio Photography at Phipps Plaza and North Point Mall
Janie and Jack is a high end children's clothing store with the cutest (and preppiest) outfits for the best dressed little ones! This spring I was hired to go into the Atlanta stores (Phipps Plaza and North Point Mall) to take some studio type mini-sessions. It was different than anything I've ever done before, since I usually have an hour or so with my portrait clients and take photos outside or at their homes. I was surprised at how much fun I had, and how much I loved the resulting photographs! I thought that they might be a little boring, with less than 20 minutes to meet and photograph the kids, and only a white background. Here are some of my favorites!(The first photos is from my iPhone, of the setup in the store.)
