Caroline and Stephen are getting married in September and wanted a spring engagement session. Our original date was rained out, but we couldn't have asked for a better "rain date." It was gorgeous last weekend! It turns out that like me, Stephen was a "lifer" at Lovett - so we had lots to talk about. (Being a lifer at Lovett means that we attended from Kindergarten through Senior Year!) Stephen was actually working at Lovett when Caroline's neighbors (also her friends and bridesmaids) introduced the two of them. Five happy years later, Stephen proposed to Caroline by carving "Marry Me" into a Jack O' Lantern. How fun!
A Divine Event - Wickedly Delicious {Athens and Atlanta Caterer}
Today's blog post is a shout out to A Divine Event catering company. A Divine Event has been doing business in Atlanta for over 10 years, and they've recently added a branch here in Athens.First, let me tell you how much I love their web site and marketing. Their tagline "Wickedly Delicious" is pretty accurate... I might even describe their food as divine! Their business cards are bright red - and have a bite taken out of them. So cute. They had a tasting earlier this month, and I was lucky enough to be invited! Of course I took my camera. Their food is not only delicious, it's always plated beautifully. A Divine Event uses only fresh ingredients, local and seasonal food, and simple preparation - even the salad dressings are hand-crafted!OK - onto the food photos. The first one is Chimicharri Flank Steak, Ancho Mashed Red Potatoes, and Feijoada Style Collard Greens.Mixed Green Summer Salad with Strawberries, Mandarin Oranges and Spicy Cured Pecans, served with Balsamic Vinaigrette DressingHoney Roasted Salmon Sides, served with Lemon Dill SauceMac n' Cheese with Crimini and Shitake MushroomsAnd for dessert - Tiny Homemade Bread Pudding with Whiskey Cream Sauce! So check out A Divine Event and drop Chris an email.
Baby Alex is growing up - He's 9 months old!
When I first met baby Alex he was just 5 weeks old. It's so fun to see the babies I photograph as they grow up. When I arrived at Alex's house he was just waking up from a nap. He just took everything in with those beautiful big eyes. Here are a few photos from the day. He looks so adorable in his overalls! I bet next time I see him he'll be running around.Look at him checking me out! Soaking it all up with those big eyes.A little unsure, he considers crawling away. Luckily he decided I wasn't so bad after all.In his 5 week old photo with mom and dad, Alex is smiling -- and this one he's waving! What a darling. What baby doesn't love to be tossed in the air by dad?Look at those teeth!I can't wait to see Alex again in a few months.
I've been published in Brides Atlanta - again!
If you didn't see it, I was published in the last issue of Brides Atlanta, and now the newest one has hit the newsstands and it has my photos in it too. Here's the cover. The editors at Brides Atlanta called me and requested some great first dance photos - and I knew exactly who to pick -- Jackie and Greg! Jackie and Greg's reception at The Foundry Park Inn was beautiful, and they were so cute when they did their first dance! Also, Tony Washington from Entertainment Purposes only DJs worked the reception, and he's one of my favorite DJs! Here are my photos from the article on First Dances. This next photo is one you'll remember from the last time I was published. They took a photo from Joan and Alan's Real Wedding Feature and made it "The Moment" on the last page of the magazine. The editor of the National magazine Brides liked this photo so much she called and asked if she could use it for ALL the local Brides magazines! So whether you're looking at Brides Atlanta, Brides Boston, or Brides Southern California, you'll see my photo as the lead picture for the Real Dads Reflect story!

Bridal Show Giveaway Winner!
Yesterday's Athens Wedding Professionals' Ultimate Bridal Show was a total success! So many brides came with their moms, bridesmaids, and friends to help them make important (and fun!) decisions about their weddings. I met lots of great women, and look forward to the chance to work with them.I was so happy with my booth this year. I felt like it represented my style of photography, with an earthy, organic, handmade feel. I found these adorable wire photo holders (on the table on the left) on etsy, along with the cute little bud vases with fresh, bright flowers. And it all sat on the elegantly earthy linens from Barron's Rental. All those things I love - bright, organic, personal touches! When I wasn't busy talking to excited brides, I enjoyed visiting the booths of other Athens Wedding Professional vendors who I love to work with. I filled up snacking on the deliciously irresistible treats from the caterers!I promised that I would announce the winner of the adorable bride hanger (also handmade and from etsy) on my blog today. So... the winner is... Katie, who's getting married on 10/22/11 in Dacula, GA! Congratulations Katie! Please contact me (by next Monday) to set up a time to get your prize.www.CourtneyGoldman.com

Margaret and David’s Engagement Session in Stone Mountain Park
I photographed Margaret and David's engagement session in Stone Mountain Park in late December. We were all so surprised at how beautiful the day was! Just one day before it was gray and cold and no good at all. As you can see the sun came out and made the session fabulous. Margaret and David spent some of their first dates at Stone Mountain Park, so they knew exactly where they wanted to have their photos taken. They were very easy to photograph -- so natural in front of the camera and hardly needing any direction from me! Here are a few of my favorites from the day.Congratulations Margaret and David! Looking forward to the wedding this spring.www.CourtneyGoldman.com
Newborn Baby Axley
Amy was my very best friend growing up. Most of my childhood memories involve her! She and I spent hours together at the pool all summer long. We were in ballet and brownies together and we even started a babysitting business together. I know (having spent so many nights watching the neighborhood kids together) that she is going to be an amazing mom! Baby Axley must have known too, because he surprised us all and came 4 weeks early; he just couldn't wait. He's a healthy and beautiful baby and I'm so happy for Amy and Scott to have started such a wonderful family. Here are some of my favorite photos from the session we did when he was about 5 weeks old.Amy's Aunt and Grandmother made this blanket, and I thought it was so cute. He's sleeping in a field of dasies! This is my favorite photo of the day. I can't pinpoint exactly why, but I just love it!Here he's totally relaxed in Mama's arms. Just chillin'Being this cute just isn't easy.Congratulations Amy and Scott!www.CourtneyGoldman.com
8 week old Baby Guy
Hello blog followers, Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday and enjoyed spending time with your friends, family and loved ones.My first post of 2011 is of Baby Guy. Christina is a friend and a colleague in the wedding industry. Not only does she work with Consultants Unlimited, the best planners in town, she also sings with Athens A-Train Band and has the most amazing voice! (You may also know her as a real estate agent - this woman does it all!) I was thrilled to take some photos of her adorable baby boy Guy at 8 weeks old. I fell in love with his cheeks the moment I saw him. I know you will too! This was a favorite of mine from the session. There's something so cute about babies in "grown up" clothes. This sweater just made me smile. Here's the happy family. This rocking chair is special to Christina, so we thought it would be fun to take his photo in it as he grows up. I'm thinking he'll like it better next time - when he can sit up on his own!!Christmas is coming! And he was one sleepy santa.Congratulations Christina and Wade!www.CourtneyGoldman.com

Laura and Wes' Engagement Session at The Botanical Garden in Athens
Laura and Wes were such fun to work with! We met at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia on a beautiful fall day, and had such fun walking all over the gardens taking photos. Here are a few of my favorites.I was telling Laura and Wes that I love to use this arch in photos, and that some of the couples I photograph are tall enough to lean on each side while holding hands. Wes took that as a challenge and said, I bet you've never take photos of a couple hanging off the arch! I hadn't, but as you can see - now I have. This is a traditional pose, but I just love it anyway! And we had to make sure to get some photos with the vibrant glowing fall leaves!... And they skipped off into the sunset...We did run downtown and get some photos with the UGA arch. Here's my favorite.Congratulations Laura and Wes. I had such fun and can't wait for the wedding!www.CourtneyGoldman.com
Baby Harrison - 6 months and just adorable!
There's nothing I love more than getting a new client through a referral. Harrison's parents heard about me from another family I photographed, which is the biggest compliment I can get!!Thanks for sending folks my way.Baby Harrison is just adorable. He was a big smiler from the moment I arrived! He's only six months and hanging around on the chair in his nursery. (Well, with Dad just off to the side ready to catch him if needed.)In his gorgeous crib! The whole family. Rebecca and Rob are Engaged!
Rebecca and Rob and I went to The Atlanta Botanical Gardens for their Engagement Session and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We had a great time walking around and exploring the gardens and taking photos. Rebecca and Rob were lots of fun, joking around with each other and me, and very cute in front of the camera! Here are some of my favorites from their session. I'm looking forward to the wedding this summer at the Ritz Buckhead!Congratulations y'all!www.CourtneyGoldman.com
Lucia's Maternity Session
I can't believe that I haven't blogged these gorgeous maternity photos yet! Lucia's maternity session was in late August, which was such a HOT and MUGGY month. We decided it would be best for everyone to stay out of the heat and take the photos inside, but we wanted a nice, natural background for some of the photos. So we went to the perfect place -- the Conservatory of the Botanical Gardens!Jacob and Lucia are so sweet! They both have such beautiful eyes! After the Botanical Gardens we decided to do something I'd never done before -- take some photos at my house. Now, I don't have a "proper studio," but I do have a beautiful red wall and tons of natural light! I think they turned out pretty great (if I do say so myself...)www.CourtneyGoldman.com
The Atlanta Diamond Dash!
The Atlanta Diamond Dash was SUCH a blast!! Brown & Co Jewelers held this amazing event on November 20th and I was the official photographer for the event. Over 150 couples showed up and raced around Atlanta answering trivia questions in pursuit of the grand prize - a $20,000 Ritani Diamond Ring!! There is a video on the Diamond Dash page that was put together with my photos from the day - check it out! (Either of the bottom two -- they are the same. The first one is video footage from DR Films, also worth a watch!)Check out the line to register! There was definite excitement in the air.And stretching to get ready for the race...Everyone got together for a group shot.It was a beautiful fall day! It started out overcast, which kept us cool, then the sun came out and it was just gorgeous!Clues were hidden all over Atlanta. In action! The winners of the his and hers watches were notified by a phone call! With Mr. Brown of Brown & Company - the mad who made this all happen! And the grand prize winners of the $20,000 Ritani Ring!A beautiful end to a fabulous and fun day - he proposed right there on the stage!Don't worry, it was a "first annual" so we'll be doing it again next year and you can join us and maybe win!!www.CourtneyGoldman.com
Daphne is One Year Old!

She's very serious about reading her book.Doesn't it look like she just saw Santa up the chimney?!?Daphne is one speedy crawling machine. The whole happy family.Such a beauty...contemplative...... and happy!Daphne and her Mama.Happy first birthday Daphne!www.CourtneyGoldman.com
The Etheridge Family Portrait in Atlanta
What a fun and happy family! I photographed the Etheridge family a few weeks ago and they were just delightful. The kids are the cutest, and everybody had such fun together! Shoes were kicked off, pyramids were built, and jungle gyms were scaled! I had such a hard time narrowing down the best photos, so here are my top 10ish.The Grandparents with the kidsThe whole gangCan you guess who rules in this family? The girls of course!!Although Mark would have to disagree - he thought he was the strongest...So the kids took him up on a ride!Just the ladiesThat pyramid I was telling you about.Aunt Chelsea with the little onesCan you look at this photo and not smile? Newborn Baby Elliot in Athens
Remember my friends Anna and Josh that were expecting a baby boy? Well, Elliot arrived on September 27th, 2010! He is so handsome! Elliot was born with a full head of beautiful brown hair. I took a few photos of him at 6 days old, then some more at 10 days. Here are my favorites. The new family photo! In front of their house.www.CourtneyGoldman.com
Caroline and Sarah Mac at Burge Plantation
Caroline and Sarah Mac are just as sweet as they are beautiful. I had such a fun time at Burge Plantation taking their photos. Not only is it a great background for photos, but it's special as the girls go there often for a nice weekend with their parents. Caroline's favorite outfit is her "skinny jeans and cowboy boots." She was happy to take some fun photos alone while Mom got Sarah Mac ready to go.I absolutely love this first photo of Caroline. It is one of the few where she isn't smiling, but she just looks so serious and so gorgeous! She's gonna be a heartbreaker one day.And Sarah Mac is quite the beauty herself!A sweet sister photo.Dad helping Sarah Mac climb a tree. This was my favorite "action" shot of the day. Girls being silly girls.www.CourtneyGoldman.com
